It’s December, so naturally every major gaming publication is currently conducting their Game Of The Year awards. While our very own editorial staff offered their personal opinions during this weeks episode of The Co-Op I couldn’t help but feel that they, and gamers at large, are forgetting some key titles when discussing the best games of this year. In an attempt to remedy this I have thrown together a list of under-the-radar games which I feel helped to make 2009 another phenomenal year to be a gamer. Of course if you think that I myself have over-looked about a few gems feel free to put me on blast via the comment box below.

10. ‘Splosion Man
Simple platforming at his finest. This XBL exclusive is one of the best 2D platformers in years, simple to learn but difficult to master.
09. Flower
…because sometimes you just need to chill out. This beautiful PSN title is one of the most relaxing and unique games you will ever experience. Become one with nature and set yourself free.
08. Wario Land Shake It
Ignored by the masses, this is another platfomer that deserves a spot in your game collection. If you feel that the Mario games are becoming stale this is probably the alternative you have been looking for.
07. Metriod Prime Trilogy
All three Metriod Prime games in one magnificent package, The best Nintendo compilation since Super Mario All-Stars.
06. Mario & Luigi: Bowsers Inside Story
A RPG for non-RPG lovers. Unfortunatly this is one of the few genuinely funny games in existence.
05. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
Don’t let the old school graphics fool you, this portable GTA is every bit as good as the console versions.
04. 50 Cent: Blood On The Sand
A dope third person shooter, a banging soundtrack and DJ Whoo Kid beside you gunning mofo’s down. What more could you want from life?
03. UFC: Undisputed
UFC is the new hotness and this game is a mighty find rendition of the sport. Get some buddies over, crack open a few beers and let the good times roll.
02. God Of War Collection
Remastered versions of the first 2 GoW games and a download code for the God Of War III E3 demo. If you need more convincing, kill yourself!
01. DJ Hero
Rock-n-Roll has had the music game genre sewn up for far too long, now its our turn! Unless Activision one day releases Hip-Hop Hero (which should come with a Drum Machine!) this is an essential purchases for all you “urban gamers” out there.

blood on the sand >>> Halo Odst
and im not joking
My only gripe against this list is that Shadow Complex isn't on it. I know many will argue that this game was made by Epic Games and therefore doesn't count, but last time I checked it was developed by Chair Entertainment, the makers of Undertow. It wasn't until later that Epic acquired Chair and dropped this game. Seeing as how this is the best xbox live game available definately should be on this list.
I loved Shadow Complex but since it was already mentioned on the podcast I went with Splosion Man instead
Cool man. I gotcha.Splosion man was good too
