its true that retail never dies, but look at how downloading music has become the standard now. The same thing will happen with games, but if the companies themselves are behind it then its a win for them.

Yes i will be unhappy too if we can no longer trade in used games...but we'll just have to be more selective about what we buy thats all.

Wow, these methods all suck. Guess I won't be a gamer anymore once this Video Game Doomsday happens.

If you can't sell used games anymore, then I will be waiting a long, long time for price drops. Which doesn't happen too often for console DLC & Arcade games.

If you can't get any money back, then I don't see many people paying $60 for a game. Plus, Gamestop gets 43% of their profit from used game sales.

If people can't trade their games in, GS will see less new game purchases as well

Top five ways to nickle and dime ya boy.... But on the real. Retail is something that is irreplaceable. People are creatures of habit and possession. Take away either one of those and shit hits the fan.

Digital Distribution is next up though. Besides retail holding it back, digital distribution Achilles heel is its dependence on internet access. It wont reach its full potential until a majority of you able to expand demand and consumers are actually able to acquire and use the product. Once the internet becomes affordable to the masses demand for digital distribution will rise as well.
