After all the talk, all the demands, all the bull, starting right now, the PlayStation 3 is now available for $299. If you can wait until September 1st the slim version of PlayStation 3 will be available with a 120 gb hdd for $299 as well. You can check out the latest episode of the Office here if you want to hear how the Koalition team feels about a PS3 price drop and slim version. Other than that check out the video of SCEA President and CEO Jack Tretton letting you know what the deal is. Leave your comments below.

p.s… Sony FTW

Its Not That Much Slimmer But I’ll Get It
Yeah, this is more LONG AND FLAT then “slim”
side by side with the phat model, this new one is actually,
wider and longer.
I personally want to see the insides, somebody needs to break one open
and see how much each piece in this one cost, this PS3 can’t cost
no more then 200 dollar to produce, it just can’t.
Beautiful!
If I didn’t already own a ps3 that could play PS2 games i’d sell my console and cop this
lol at Beautiful, this shit is generic as fuck, down right cheap looking.
but then again, they had to make a drastic move and this was it, lets
see if the public will respond in a good way.
I think it will eventually go down to 199.99 and the new one which will
be 250 gig, yes it was already revealed at FCC will be the 299.99.
Sony knows if they want to attract the casuals to their motion controls
shit, the price has to be 199.99 and matching the lowest priced 360.
I think it looks really nice aside from the power and eject buttons, I prefer the touch panel from the older models
