It has come to my attention that not enough people are aware of upcoming game APB(by Real Time Worlds) and what a revolution this game could be. So with the power of my journalism it is time to spread the word on something I feel will be a big shock to the system once it has been fully revealed (Most likely at E3). Here are 5 reasons APB will shock the world this year.
5. Imagine A GTA MMO (But not GTA Obviously)
APB pays host to a huge fictional metropolitan city, that we will be able to roam around and see other players from all over the world (assuming there is no region lock). The game is focused on the conflict between law enforcement and criminals. If this alone has not impressed you, then please read on.
4. They Made Crackdown…?
Yes I know Crackdown didn’t impress some, but thats mostly due to the fact that it was over shadowed by the free Halo 3 demo that came with purchasing the game. But I own Crackdown and love it, and regardless of what I feel about the game it is clear that with Crackdown they know how to make an open world, and know how to create chaos within it.
3. Tons of players online together blowing stuff up and causing havoc (Amen)
So you’re logging on to TheKoalition.com to get your up to date E3 coverage, you see the video of APB, people are shooting rocket launchers at buildings and they are collapsing, people are hanging from lamppost’s and shooting Uzi’s at the law enforcers, people are jumping off of buildings that have been set alight but then fall to their death, and people are driving straight toward their enemies aiming to squash them but then get hit with a stray missile. You see this footage playing on our fantastic website, and you mean to tell me you are not going to be in shock?
2. It is using the Unreal 3 Engine.
Arguably the best engine out there running on consoles right now, there have been cases where this engine was used wrong (Hour Of Victory), but not too many of them. So consider everything I’ve said already, and imagine the technicality of the Unreal Engine powering it all. I think the shock value has risen slightly.
1. This Game Is Possibly An Xbox 360 Exclusive
Now consider that Crackdown was build to be an Xbox 360 exclusive, and there are already rumors out there that this game is an Xbox exclusive. So ask yourself this, are the same company behind Crackdown prepared to make their next huge title multi platform? Well I sure as hell can tell you that Microsoft are looking specifically for MMO’s to counteract Playstation 3’s M.A.G. If footage of APB is shown and it is every bit as jaw dropping as I have described, and then at the end of the video we see “Only On The Xbox360″. It will be a big deal.

Twitter and Facebook users do not need too do this.

I would like to ask why u think its a good thing its exclusive?
most likely because exclusive games gets better treatment as far as marketing goes. ESPECIALLY for a franchise not yet proven and heavily slept on such as APB
well cant argue with that.
While APB may or may not be a great game those points are a stretch at best.
Thats cool if you feel like that
But I am really excited for this game, and these are the factors why. And im sure once more people are aware they’ll be others who feel like me.
@Dustin
Exclusive games are usually a lot more polished as well, especially when the company hasn’t developed anything on the PS3 (to my knowledge)
I’m very much looking forwards to this game. I was a massive fan of Crackdown, i’ve probably spent more time roaming around in co-op, then hours spent playing any other next gen game. So a big worldy game like APB gets me very excited.
@ Dustin
The point wasnt that it’s a good thing with it being exclusive. The point was it will add to the shock value, which was pretty much the theme of this article.
5. Imagine A GTA MMO (But not GTA Ovbiously)
GTA IV sucked online.
4. They Made Crackdown…?
In my opinion, crackdown sucked
3. Tons of players online together blowing stuff up and causing havoc (Amen)
Tons of players online? We don’t even know much
2. It is using the Unreal 3 Engine.
This should be a reason why it sucks, there is a difference then most used to actually good engine. UE3 is so bad.
1. This Game Is Possibly An Xbox 360 Exclusive
So much fail. This game is possibly not coming to X360. The X360 version was put on hold, its coming on PC 1st.
I wasnt saying GTA was good online or not, I was simply saying this game would be like an MMO GTA….GTA IV’s online was far from an MMO.
yea but…360 still considers a game exclusive if it has a pc version…long as its exclusive to its console
yeah jojo…most games hit the PC anyway realistically. but as far as discussing game exclusivity, the main focus is the consoles.
notice nobody calls world of warcraft a PC exclusive, they just call it a PC Game.
I think you need to do a little research some of your points are misinformed and have been either denied or not confirmed by realtime worlds. But i do show much excitement for this game. Btw check apb-evolved.net for more info
Lol, what is this? A 360 exclusive? The company never confirmed any console development. So far its PC exclusive.
Well it was stated in the article that the 360 exclusivity is just a rumor right now, and that if it is true then it will shock.
I had this game ranked high on my wish list until i saw MAG and the Agency, Now i dont even care about it anymore.
And i have a feeling it’s gonna fail horrible
There’s no way this is a 360 exclusive game. The developer said that IF a console version even comes out, it’ll be PS3/360. This is a PC Game now. MMOs don’t work on consoles very well.
APB who!? What´s this? Somebody knows it? Oh! i get it! It´s from the reputable studios behind Mega-Bombastic-Hit Crackdown.
Sorry to burst your bubble but it’s already been confirmed to be multiplatform. I actually found out about the game checkin out some ps3 titles that i wanted in the future. But who cares if it’s mutltiplatform? It’s going to be sick!! @Bummer: You’re an idiot. MAG looked and sounded impressive until it was announced that the socom guys are making it and it’s only going to run at 30 fps. It’s going to be garbage for anybody used to call of duty or any other fast paced shooter. And the agency is basically the same game as this, so how is this going to fail but the agency is going to succeed? Especially when the same people are making it?
@ wowzers
Say what you want but MAG looks great!! And i love Socom so the the fact that zipper is making it is fantastic, And who cares if it’s 30FPS, Halo, Resistance, Gears & even killzone…they all run at 30FPS…
The agency seems to have more depth to it them both MAG & APB combined and the fact that it has a spy theme is awesome
I didn’t say it’s gonna fail, I said i have a feeling it’s gonna fail, APB feels off…Like it’s missing a heart.
What same people are making what?
MAG – Zipper
Agency – SOE seattle
APB – Realtime
Most of you are complete dolts.
This game is NOT coming to the PS3. It is 360/PC only.
MAG will be a joke just like 90% of the PS3’s titles. The Agency…hahaha yea right. Same goes for that, too.
APB will usher in a new generation.
