I know most of my fellow PlayStation 3 owners have probably already seen the opening cinematic for God of War 3 but I though it was just so awesome I had to upload it and share it with the world. Also did anyone else think of the opening scenes of a bond movie when they watched this? or was that just me?.

Mass Effect 2 Firewalker Downloadable Content Dated

Bioware have just dropped the date for the next installment of free Mass Effect 2 downloadable content. The Firewalker pack will be made available on March 23 and will contain the Hammerhead which is a new vehicle to the Mass Effect universe. Five new missions tied to the hover tank will also be included in the pack.

Note: This downloadable content will only be free to existing Cerberus Network members. If you bought the game pre-owned you will have to fork out $15 for a membership. This will give you access to this pack and the older downloadable content including some new armour and a new team member.

Splinter Cell: Conviction Xbox 360 Demo Gameplay

The UK Goes Mad For Final Fantasy XIII, Biggest Selling Title In Franchise History

Square Enix has just announced that the latest edition of the Final Fantasy series, Final Fantasy XIII has become the UK’s fastest selling title in the franchise’s long history. The news follows up on the recent announcement last week that the sell-in shipment of the game has exceeded the five million unit milestone worldwide. This just shows that there are still plenty of Final Fantasy fans in the UK or at least shows the hype machine does in fact bring sales.

Square Enix Europe are pleased to announce that FINAL FANTASY® XIII has become the fastest selling title in the FINAL FANTASY franchise history in the UK and also the fastest selling UK game of 2010 so far*.

The news comes on the heels of the announcement last week that the sell-in shipment of the game has exceeded the five million unit milestone worldwide. Cumulative global shipments of the FINAL FANTASY series have now reached 96 million units since the first game was launched over two decades ago.

The latest part in the multi-award winning FINAL FANTASY series was released on 9 March 2010 in the UK for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system as well as the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system by Microsoft.

“It’s great to see FINAL FANTASY XIII hitting the top of the UK charts and setting the pace as the fastest selling game of the year,” said Jon Brooke, UK Marketing Director. “With high profile TV spots playing out beyond Easter and branded buses still travelling the country I’m positive this title is only going to get bigger and bigger.”

The FINAL FANTASY series stands out thanks to its ongoing evolution. Only the best creative ideas, the best graphics standards and the best gameplay systems, which are available at the time when a new part in the series is developed, are included in the game. This tradition has been continued in FINAL FANTASY XIII.

FINAL FANTASY XIII is also the fastest and biggest selling console game in Germany in 2010 (source: Media Control GFK International) and the best selling console game in France in 2010 so far (source: GFK France).

Splinter Cell: Conviction Demo Due Out This Thursday

Brink Cinematic Trailer

We have not seen much of Brink for a while but today i got an email containing a new cinematic trailer for the first-person shooter developed by Splash Damage. The video shows off some good looking CG with plenty of parkour, guns and explosions. Check it out below.

Brink will be smashing its way into stores this Fall for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Be sure to check it out.

New EA Sports MMA Screenshots

EA have released a few more screenshots for it’s UFC: Undisputed rival, EA Sports MMA. The new screenshots show a few of the brawlers and a few of the arenas they will be doing battle in. I don’t know about any of you but i still think that UFC: Undisputed 2010 looks better and the gameplay from UFC: Undisputed 09 was a great starting block for the folks at THQ to build on. I don’t think EA Sports MMA will even come close to UFC: Undisputed 2010 this year but i guess only time will tell.

Blur Beta Gameplay

If you somehow never managed to grab one of the Blur beta codes we were giving away all last week, here is your chance to see what the game looks like in motion. The video below shows me taking part in a 12 player race on the Badlands racetrack. It was a pretty boring race if i have to be honest, once i got out in front i was gone, it seemed like the other players forgot i was even there. lol

My overall opinion of the Beta is, It was fun for a while but i quickly became bored. I don’t know if it was the lack of tracks, cars or perks but it never really grabbed me like i thought it would. I am now going to focus my attention on Blur’s rival racer Split/Second.

Need For Speed: Shift Gets Exotic Car Pack

Following in the footsteps of the Ferrari Car Pack that was released a few weeks back EA have announced another downloadable content pack for Need For Speed: Shift. The Exotic Racing Series Pack will featuring seven brand new exotic cars including the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss and Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. If the new cars are not enough there will also be a new track called Riviera added to the game, it features four new layouts with tons of twisty turns, hairpins and speed camera shattering straight-aways. There will also be 50 new events created specifically for the new cars including time challenges, endurance and sprint races.

Codemasters Reveal Bodycount, A New FPS From BLACK Co-Creator

I know alot of people have been looking for a sequel to the PlayStation 2 shooter Black and I think Codemasters may have the answer because today the UK developer revealed that the co-creator of Black, Stuart Black is currently designing a first person shooter that bears more than a slight similarity to the PlayStation 2 game. Its called Bodycount and aims to bring cutting edge graphics, genre-defining gun play and jaw-dropping devastation to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sometime is 2011.

Set to rip apart the First Person Shooter and deliver genre-defining gun play that comes alive in an orgy of bullets and destruction, Codemasters today confirmed that Bodycount™ is the new IP in production at Codemasters Studios Guildford.

Designed by Creative Director Stuart Black (co-creator and designer of Black, 2006), Bodycount is being created by an all-star development team using the EGO® Game Technology Platform, an evolution of Codemasters’ award-winning engine, for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft® and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and scheduled for release in Q1 of 2011.

Leaked Halo: Reach Trailer Is Full Of Win

Well the leaks for big games seem to have spread, first we got some new footage of God of War 3 and now we have a new trailer for Halo: Reach. This video comes via a Taiwanese website and features assassinations, new weapons and a few of new game modes. Could this be the multiplayer bomb Bungie have been hyping up or do they have something else in the Halo locker for us to see?. I guess we will find out soon.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is finally on store shelves in America and to celebrate EA has released a launch trailer for the game. I don’t know about you but while watching this trailer i was reminded of that epic Killzone 2 slow-mo trailer, you know the one with the classical music playing.

More God of War 3 Footage Hits The Internet

Attention God of War 3 fans, Today a little more footage from the game has hit the Internet via Youtube user BeCkS1688. The video shows the Poseidon battle, a first person kill and a few other juicy tidbits. As you may expect this video contains many spoilers so if you are on God of War 3 media blackout I highly suggest you fight the urge to watch this, or at least try for a few minutes.

Also YouTube will probably remove this quickly so if you just need to see it, the time is now.

Ignition Entertainment Reveal Blacklight: Tango Down

It looks like Ignition Entertainment and Zombie Studios are trying to take the downloadable game scene to a new level with their new game Blacklight: Tango Down. Running off the Unreal 3 game engine and set in a universe called Blacklight the game hopes to capture some of the massive first person shooter market by offering gamers everything they would expect to get in a full retail game but in a downloadable package.

“Blacklight: Tango Down is a fast-paced first person shooter based in a new fictional universe called Blacklight. Utilizing the cutting-edge graphical power of Unreal Engine 3, Blacklight: Tango Down’s near-future setting is brought to life with disturbingly detailed and old-world architecture dripping with modern sci-fi lighting and brightly lit advertisements, an effect that causes each environment to appear both futuristically alien as well as hauntingly familiar.

Blacklight: Tango Down will deliver some of the most exciting multiplayer gameplay available in the shooter category and features numerous gameplay styles and functionality. These modes include traditional formats like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch & Control Point, with other modes being .announced in the build up to launch.

Blur Social Gameplay Trailer

With the BLUR beta starting tomorrow, PGR creators Bizarre Creations have released a new video showcasing the social elements of BLUR. These include 4 player split screen races, tons of custom race options and everyone’s favorite, 1vs1 races. BLUR has a placeholder release date of sometime in Spring 2010 and will be avaliable on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Just Cause 2 Mid-Air Sabotage Video

Eidos have released another “Anatomy Of A Stunt” video for the open world destruction fest that is Just Cause 2. This one is all about Sabotage, Mid-Air Sabotage to be exact. As you can probably guess from the name this takes place in mid-air and features two jet and some timed explosives.

Just Cause 2 is set to parachute into stores on March 23rd, 2010, in North America and March 26th, 2010, in Europe. There will also be a demo available on March 4th on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.

Metro 2033 Kill Or Be Killed Trailer

THQ have released another trailer for their post apocalyptic first person shooter Metro 2033. This one comes with the tag line “Kill Or Be Killed” and going from what was shown in the trailer, that statement looks to be very accurate. Metro 2033 is scheduled to hit North American stores on March 16th, and European stores on March 19th for PC and Xbox 360.

p.s Does anyone think of Fallout 3 or Stalker when you watch videos for this game or is that just me?.

Mass Effect 2 Hammerhead DLC On The Way

A Recent update to the Mass Effect 2 website has revealed that another DLC pack for Mass Effect 2 is scheduled to be released sometime late March. The new DLC titled the “Firewalker pack” will contain 5 new missions featuring the heavy assault vehicle called the Hammerhead.

The Hammerhead is a heavy assault vehicle that hovers over the battlefield at up to 120 kilometers per hour and features a guided missile system ensuring accuracy even during aggressive maneuvering.

Alpha Protocol Gets A Release Date

Sega and Obsidian Entertainment have just confirmed the release dates for the long awaited espionage role playing game Alpha Protocol. The game will hit Australian shores first on May 27th with Europe following along a day later on May 28th and America running up the rear on June 1st.

Along with the release date announcement Sega and Obsidian Entertainment also released a new video, final boxart and a few screenshots for the game which you can view below. Enjoy
