Help Haiti “Halo Style”

Everyone has seen the destruction in Haiti that has taken place over the last two weeks. This devastation has taken the world by storm and most people really would like a way to contribute in helping the Republic of Haiti recover.

How can us gamers help?

Well thanks for asking!

Easier than you may think. Bungie is giving gamers a way to help donate up to $77,000 to the cause. The only thing you have to do is play Halo 3 or Halo ODST with a special emblem today! For every thousand warriors that participate Bungie will donate 100 dollars until a maximum of 77,000 Dollars is reached. Koalitionites it can’t get much easier than this, so lets put Modern Warfare to the side for a minute dust of our old copies of Halo and contribute to a great cause. To help all you have to do is play ONE game so get on today look for your favorite Koalition Editor and get to sniping!

“Word to the Wise” – Make sure you’re on Edward’s team and stay as far away as possible from a team AB Frasier is on!!!

1. Round up all of your friends and hop online with Halo 3 or ODST any time next from 00:01AM PST Wednesday, 1/20, through 23:59PM PST Thursday 1/21.

2. Edit your appearance settings so your character is wearing the RED HEART emblem.

a. Press START
b. Select “SETTINGS” / “APPEARANCE”
c. Select “EMBLEM”
d. Select “Hearts” ICON, “Circle” BACKGROUND
e. Back out to the APPEARANCES menu and select “COLORS”
f. Set “EMBLEM PRIMARY” to RED (or MAROON / BRICK / ROSE depending on which game you’re playing!)
g. Set “EMBLEM SECONDARY” to WHITE

3. Once your emblem is set, play! This can be a custom game or a matchmaking game, just make sure it’s played online, on Xbox LIVE, or we can’t track it.

If you keep playing more games through midnight on Thursday, KEEP THE HEART EMBLEM ENABLED or you may not get counted.

Mystikal Released From Prison

After 6 years of incarceration hip-hop veteran Mystikal was released from prison on January 14, 2010. There have been plenty rumors in the past depicting his release but this time its true. Mystikal was sentenced to six years in prison for forcing his hair stylist to perform oral sex and other sex acts on him and his two body guards after she was accused of stealing 80,000 dollars in checks. Being such a big Mystikal fan its good to hear the man is finally free. Mystikal did an interview with Q93 that you can hear below. Expect big things from my man Mystikal as he picks up the slack in the south as Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, and Lil Boosie head off to incarceration.

PS. If I smoked, I’d put that “I Smell Smoke” by Mystikal on and blaze it up. But I dont! Say No to Drugs!

I had to jump on and make sure i showcased a video for our readers from the South. If I don’t do it, it won’t be done as the rest of the editors here continue to nut hug on artist from the east coast. Well before GUCCI!! heads off to incarceration and the December 8th release of his Mixtape “The State vs Radric Davis” he decided to show us a new side of him. What side is that you ask? The side that shows us the relationship between him and “Curious George” as he boast an eery resemblance to “The Man with the Yellow Hat” Check out the video below as it also has a cameo from his young apprentice Wacka Flocka Flame.

NBA 2K10 Gameplay Footage

Whats up people its your friendly TheKoalition.com Sports Game Champion. Today I was making my daily morning stop at OperationSports.com and came across a video of some NBA 2K10 Gameplay that really impressed me. Being such a huge sports gamer there are some things that happen in sports games that actually annoy me a little bit. One of those annoyances I’m sure you all have ran across, you know in a basketball video game when the sportscaster starts rambling on then a big play happens but they have to finish what they are queued to say, so that causes them not to recognize what has happened until a play later. In real life a sportscaster’s ramblings will be cut off by the excitement of a huge play. That is just something small that really impressed me in this footage, check 3:49 in the video to see what I’m talking about. This video also shows the outstanding presentation that 2K games always bring. Watch the video below and be impressed as I have been.

Everyone knows the first step to solving a problem is admitting that you have one. EA has done that, they’ve prayed to the basketball gods for forgiveness and have dared to confront the EA haters with one question. “What do you feel is wrong with NBA Live and what can we do to fix it?” The NBA Live team has done what I feel will make all their future efforts better. Madden 10 Demo Hits Marketplace

Today is the day that all Madden fans of the world have been anxiously anticipating. Madden 10 demo has dropped this morning and you should run to download it. This years demo will include the teams from the Superbowl as always which are the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers. This demo comes with and extra bonus, if you preordered the game from Gamestop you get a full 5 minute a quarter demo. I’m just your local sports gamer giving you a heads up so you can get your practice on. I SUPPORT : Black College Football Xperience: The Doug Williams Edition

Good morning Koalition Nation. Today I ran across this trailer for Black College Football Xperience: The Doug Williams Edition (BCFX). This game is being developed and published by Nerjyzed Entertainment, a private company founded in 2003 in Baton Rouge, LA. BCFX is a football video game created around the atmosphere of Historically Black Universities. This game is trying its best to recreate the experience and I think it just might pull it off. I would call myself something of an expert on the subject as I am a former football player and Alumni of Southern University, arguably the greatest black college known to man. While watching this clip I was immediately drawn back to my college years as I reminisced of my Homecomings and Bayou Classics of the past. One thing I feel that Nerjyzed has going for them is that EA Sports has omitted all black colleges from NCAA football since they made the jump to this generation of platforms. Nerjyzed is trying to do something never done in football games before by making the Halftime Show interactive. Why you may ask? In Black College Football halftime is not just for getting more hot dogs and making a quick bathroom run. Some may even argue that halftime is the highlight of the football game as everyone in attendance eagerly awaits to watch “The Human Jukebox” demolish the competition. I had the liberty of putting my hands on this game about 2 years ago at a Southern University Homecoming game, while the game was promising it could have used a little more work. Now its two years later and I’m sure the guys and Nerjyzed have put some work in as the game is slated to be released September 15, 2009 for Xbox 360 at the low price of $39.99. I definately will be picking this game up as I feel it is very important to support a black owned video game development and publishing company but also because I feel this game can be a huge success by filling a void left open by EA. Will you Support?

New NBA Live 10 Screenshot Frustration

Even for a hardcore EA Sports fan like my self must realize when its time to face the music. NBA Live 10, one of the most storied sports video game franchises has been off of its game lately. NBA Live made a huge jump last year but it is still in the shadows of 2K Games Heavyweight NBA 2K. 2010 may be NBA Live’s final chance to show us something before we all give up hope, many fans of the franchise have but its bout high damn time us few loyal fans that remain are rewarded with a stellar basketball game that leaves no question in any ones mind who the ruler of the NBA Simulation Video Game Domain is. I said all that to release my frustration with the series and say check out some new screens released below, Bye. Damn it EA! You tap dancing on my last nerve!
