After playing through the BRUTAL LEGEND Demo, I was floored by how fun and promising the single player campaign would be. The promise of multiplayer and online battles however had me skeptical as to how this whole process would work. Now that this tutorial video has surfaced, here are a few reasons why this game deserves a deeper look.

BATTLE OF THE BANDS:

The idea behind the multiplayer aspect of BRUTAL LEGEND stems from the concept of creating a band and going into battle with your adversaries. In theory this is very similar to the prospects of putting together a real life band in the sense that you build a union with members and gain fans that will support you along the way. The only difference is that instead of playing music head to head with your opponents, you actually will battle them in combat to the death and destroy their stage in the process. Double team maneuvers can be done on the fly without interferring with the individual combat system implemented from the beginning. The guitar solo you perform is meant to be the final nail in the coffin that will bring down your opponents stage for good. The creation of this concept sounds smart and will be interesting to see if its executed flawlessly.

BAND VILLIANS & BEYOND:

The second half of the tutorial introduces some of the teams you’ll be facing as you playthrough the game. Each band provides its own myriad of challenges and will undoubtedly require strategy when defeating them. I would also expect that you will see several guest appearances from Rock Icons of years past one way or another. The most interesting thing about this is that beyond those bosses, there still will be online play against friends. Will your friends also be able to build their own bands? Or will they join your band? All in all you can’t deny the fact that BRUTAL LEGEND is an intriguing title destined to make history come Rocktober 13!!!
