This week Warner Brothers Entertainment announced a new division (DC Entertainment) which aims to maximize the DC assets including games, movies, TV and other media. This move comes directly after the shocking announcement of Disney’s Marvel buyout. So with two huge driving forces behind our favorite comic book brands, I think the competition is about to heat up.
Lately I believe that DC have been kicking Marvel’s ass in terms of their recent content. Lets face it; if we look at the past 16 months The Dark Knight and The Watchmen kicked Ironman, The Punisher and Wolverines ass. However even though DC has had a good two years, they can not underestimate the threat that the Disney buyout entails.

This new billion dollar comic book war will defiantly benefit us gamers, as well as die hard loyalists to both comic book brands. Expect cross overs and more star power in the movies, and hopefully more fantastic Comic book games on the scale of DC’s Batman Arkham Asylum.
I expect a lot more emphasis to be put into the whole Marvel Ultimate Alliance vs DC Universe debate too, although I feel that DC Universe will be the better game. However the move that Warner Entertainment have made shows that they know Marvel is about to see a serious increase in it’s assets.
