Dante’s Inferno is Visceral Games new 3rd person action game based on the version of the afterlife based on the 13th century Italian poet Dante Alighieri in part one of his epic classic, “The Divine Comedy.”
You assume the role of Dante, who descends into Hell after returning home to find his beloved Beatrice murdered, with Lucifer seducing her soul into the underworld. Dante sets out on a rescue mission to save Beatrice, but he soon realizes he is also in Hell to face his own demons and ultimately to redeem himself.
The story is rich and engaging. The graphics and visuals are absolutely gorgeous with some very impressive CG. The game play is equally impressive with action sequences that are flawlessly streamed. No hiccup in gameplay, the music and atmosphere are exceptional. While this is a great demo overall, I am going to do something that is against my principles as a reviewer, mention another game. Now with all the comparisons with God of War going around, I guess it is time I address them.
Gameplay is like God of War, and that is good. The way you progress though levels and the health items and the magic system are like God of War. I am a fan of games like this. The action is fast paced and fluid. The boss battles are big and challenging. I liked the demo and I can’t wait for the full game.
Bottom line, If you loved God of War and have an open mind, you need to download the demo NOW!!!
