Calling all hip hop practitioners, it’s that time again. I recently was privy to the honor of being a panelist for the Dynamic Producers conference in N.Y September 16-18. There are countless times that people will reach out to me via Facebook or Twitter and ask me the same thing over and over again, “How can I get on [in the game]?” This is a timeless tale that everyone in entertainment can relate too whether you’re already there or on your way.  Well as a wise man once told me “Your floor is someone else’s ceiling,” as such I wanted to release my perspective on the conference and how it demonstrates the right tactics to achieve success at the next level. Pay attention my musical friends for this is a useful route for “getting on!”

There are so many tedious conferences that exist in a drone like music society. Each has a systematic approach claiming to be able to provide industry goers with helpful this and that. The reality is that most fall short in aid towards achieving any meaningful lessons. This past week, Dynamic Producer operated as the powerhouse plug for producers needing and wanting more than your average whimsical tips.  This music business organization is the epitome of industry expansion. Its mission is to provide deserving participants with the noted skills to embrace and surpass the model of the old entertainment structure. The idea is to sustain and conquer any rigorous obstacles and continuously move forward within your goals.

This years conference touched such topics as State of The Industry, Dynamic “Pen Pushas,”  Dynamic Diagnostics, Nightly Showcases & Competitions: It’s A Hit Competition – Remix Competition – Beat Suite, In “Synch”: Composing & Placements In Digital Entertainment: Film, TV and Video Games, Call & Response: Break Records By All Means Necessary, Production Techniques: Lessons in Mastery, Nightly Showcases: My Beats Are The Illest Beat Battle, Sample Battle, and Remix Competition, Dynamic Producer Member Meeting / DP Alumni Panel, Collaborate: Songwriter/Artist Listening & Film Makers Presentation, “Thinking Outside The Music Box,” and the Producers Soundstage. These elements became key and granted all members the choice to make better as oppose to making do. These are the concepts that need to be adopted by the next hip hop generations wishing to break into the game.

This was a superior outlet for producers receiving positive feedback and being critiqued on their selected materials. This was more than being informed it was a genuine connection being forged and networking opportunity. Sheer due diligence was placed before sponsorship and ad space. Dynamic Producer cares about the future of music and wants to create a threshold to bridge the gap with new and old producers. I personally witnessed how nurturing each staff member can be in advancing the young vigorous producers.  I saw first hand how the panelists were able to enlighten and enrich the audience. Chris “Mayday” Rucks acted as a Chief of Staff in engineering the facts so that participants could attain the fruits of each session.

DP’s enthusiastic purpose was met sternly as it connected aspiring producers with crisp developments. The audience became equipped with proper educational tools. Such efforts were combined with outstanding entrepreneurial dosages to strengthen all career journeys. DP has been holding down the leadership role in music conferences since 2002 and from what I saw it should continue to leave its mark. One thing that sets DP apart from other organizations that may appear similar to the untrained eye is that by working with DP as a member you actually have a chance to get paid. How you may ask? Well Dynamic Producer specializes in song placements for your hottest beats. Regardless of the level you may be entering, you all will have an equal opportunity to be heard. Unlike many other summit’s those of Dynamic Producer are held in different regions across the country. Be on the look out to attend one of DP’s track meet session at Detroit, MI Oct. 24, Raleigh, NC Oct. 17, and Miami, Fl Nov. 7.
