October is here. The month of the dead leaves. The dark nights. The Cold winds. This play list is in honor of the new “Nightmare On Elm Street” trailer that released last week. With the return of that movie, we need a return and a reminder of the classic scary video games we played. This week I’m joined by several Koalition members who wanted to chime on on what game they want to reminisce on. Leave yours picks in the comments.
Siren Blood Curse
I havent played this game enough, but I can tell that this game is scary as hell. The game is so graphic that the North American version had to be cencored, for a game that was released on PSN this is one hell of a horror game. – Gary Swaby
DOOM
Playing this game as a kid no older than 10, I can honestly say this game scared me shitless. Having only played kiddy games on the SNES like Super Mario World and Kirby, Doom was a way to prove my macho-ness at a young age. But the demon characters and the nauseousness that an FPS caused at the time where too much for me to handle. – Edward V
Resident Evil 3
One of the scariest parts I have experienced involved Nemesis surprisingly busting through a wall immediately after leaving a safe room. What made this even more frightening is that he continued to follow me room to room armed with a bazooka. Here’s to Capcom hoping they make the series scary again with the inevitable reboot of the franchise.- Richard Bailey
Bioshock
This is most likely a controversial pick. Im not sure if this game was meant to be such a thrilling and spooky experience at times. But it damn sure was. When you first take that elevator down into Rapture, you can feel your entering into a dark world. There is plenty of other moments that can make you jump at the controller as well.- AB Frasier
Nightmare On Elm Street
Honestly, I haven’t played this one yet. And that’s exactly why its on the list. Plenty of people have taken all types of shit on this release, but i’m going to give it a chance. And if you haven’t played it, I suggest you give it a shot to. – AB Frasier
