The homies over at Gizmodo recently did an interview with Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and many things popped up in their conversation. The most interesting thing as you can tell from the headline, is that Blu-Ray is just about confirmed to be coming to 360. Checkout this quote here. “Well I don’t know if we need to put Blu-ray in there—you’ll be able to get Blu-ray drives as accessories.”

If the CEO says its coming then it just might be coming. I personally think that it’s too late. The 360 ’s lifecycle is already in full effect and its ability to penetrate this particular market would be nullified by the decrease in price of current Blu-Ray players that will take place. On top of that, if MS charges $79.99 for a wireless adapter and $120 for a hard drive upgrade, I don’t want to think about how they would price a Blu-Ray add-on. Putting Blu-Ray in their next Xbox system is the strategy they should be taking. Especially if that system is coming our sooner than later.

Props to reader Rell for the update. Looks Like this was a fluke. Sorry folks, for getting your hopes up.
