Even though I love my Xbox 360 and it provides some very fun times, I can’t hide the fact that the 360 is built to break. First it was the infamous Red Rings of Death and since the NXE launch a handful of gamers have been victim to the “E74″ issue, which practically kills your 360 without the 3 flashing red lights. Now Microsoft has taken notice and have decided to make the “E74″ failure apart of the extended three year warranty that was announced back in July 2007.

While the majority of Xbox 360 owners continue to have a great experience with their console, we are aware that a very small percentage of our customers have reported receiving an error that displays “E74″ on their screen. After investigating the issue, we have determined that the E74 error message can indicate the general hardware failure that is associated with three flashing red lights error on the console. As a result, we have decided to cover repairs related to the E74 error message under our three-year warranty program for certain general hardware failures that was announced in July 2007.

We’re in the year 2009 and Xbox 360’s are still going down, even a couple of PS3’s (Gary Swaby.) If they still can’t get their shit straight I believe they never will, oh well as long as theirs a warranty, right?
