News Corp has revealed it’s plans to transform Myspace to appeal more to online gamers, the transformation would be an effort to fix the plummeting numbers Myspace has had since losing out to Facebook and Twitter.

The digital head Jonathan Miller had this to say on the plans to shift focus to video gaming: “MySpace is and will be more in the future a gaming platform, a space for people to meet and play games.” he added “If you look at the big activities online, games right now is number three,” he added. “Communications, search, games. So it’s clearly going to be a major focus.”

It is unclear at this time how News Corp wish to achieve this, could we see a Myspace feature coming to one of our consoles in the near future? There are already plans to bring Facebook and Twitter to Xbox Live in the near future, so could we see Myspace possibly team up with Sony to oppose the competition? Or perhaps Myspace wish to create their own feature for gamers which is used throughout their own platform; only time will tell what Myspace wish to offer gamers, but one thing is for sure, Myspace defiantly need to offer much more in terms of entertainment to co exist next to their competition.
