November is over, and today is NPD day. Not familiar with the NPD’s then learn more here. If you are familiar then you know that November is probably the most important montn of the year in terms of gaming sales. So lets take a look and see what your mom probably bought you for Christmas. According to NPD, you’ll probably receive a DS or a Wii for Christmas, the Grinch needs to steal that. Moving on to the heated battle between Xbox 360 and PS3. Microsoft managed to outsell the highly popular PS3 slim by 100K, many people said PS3 would own the holidays but they sold less than Xbox 360. Still decent numbers for Sony and the PS3.

Now on to hardware, Modern Warfare 2 is number one, no surprise, selling 4.20 million copies on the Xbox 360, alone. The PS3 version of the game sold 1.87 million which means the 360 version outsold the PS3 version 2:1 or 2.5:1 around there. Number 3 on the software charts is New Super Mario Bros Wii selling 1.39 million copies, not too far from the PS3 version of Modern Warfare 2. At number 4 is Assassin’s Creed 2 with 794K sold, only 50K ahead of Left 4 dead 2. At number 9 is Dragon Age, which managed to sell 362K in a busy month, pretty solid numbers considering all the big titles that came out in November.     mills mills mills, the real story is how did 360 manage to almost sell over 2 to 1 copies of mw2 over the ps3? wtf happend there man. did i miss the memo? everybody was so sure the ps3 would outsell the 360 including me. but wow. what a surprise. this will be a interesting 2010

    You act like it wasnt expected that mw2 would sell more on the 360….MW is a 360 preferred game all over because of the online features. New buyers of the PS3 arent buying the system to play modern warfare.
