As I type this article my copy of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 just arrived from FedEx. Instead of being excited to rip the package off of this anticipated title, I sit here shaking my head. All over the internet people are in an uproar because it seems that the PlayStation 3 version of Modern Warfare 2 is a little more than your typical release. In fact, this might just be the biggest mess up of any game that I can remember. As of right now, the online multiplayer is supposedly down until Friday.

At first a patch to fix Modern Warfare 2’s trophy support was released, but now multiplayer is down. I have a lot of things I want to say on this subject, but I rather speak on it than write. Listen to our next Co-Op podcast as it is sure to be a classic. Meanwhile, Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward is on his twitter page discussing the issue now. He basically says that the PSN servers are overwhelmed and since Microsoft runs their own servers they have enough capacity. Leave your comments on how you feel about this whole fiasco.

The game was rushed out, is not only PS3 having issues either, many patches will be release for both.

Personally I didn’t get into the game yet, yeah I got but didn’t actually play it or anything like that, expecting stuff like this.

Also I need to finish Uncharted 2, then AC2 coming next week, MW2
I will probably my MW2 disc in December or something LOL…

BTW back into topic, it is pretty clear the business tactics in gaming
is now “RELEASE AND PATCH LATER”.

These devs have the benefit now to do that and they take full advantange of it, you seen what happen with NBA 2K10? same exact business tactic, the list goes on.

I bet you if they didn’t have the benefit of patching, gamers would get fully done and developed games on day 1, you know how it used to be?, oh how things have changed.
