We all knew that Resident Evil 5 was going to make its motion sensor debut in Spring 2010 on the PS3. Naturally, it was thought that Capcom would re-release the disc version of the game and charge full price, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Capcom asked the fans to determine how the game’s new content should be distributed and DLC was the winner.

Resident Evil 5 Alternate Edition will be released as DLC on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with the PS3 version having full motion controls via its new controller. All the new contents of RE5 Alternate Edition have not been disclosed, but Capcom has made it known that a new mission with Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield will be included in the package. Overall, I have been a hater of DLC this entire generation, but this is a good look. +1 for Capcom for not ripping people off… this time.
