Shots have been fired, as this week Aaron Greenberg from Microsoft has enjoyed sinking his teeth into Sony with two specific controversial statements. The first came when Aaron Greenberg claimed that the Playstation 3 is “haemorrhaging” at retail, suggesting that the Playstation product is heading down south.
The second came at a time when Microsoft was celebrating the success of the Lost & Damned DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV. The news came out that the DLC set new Xbox Live records and boosted Xbox 360 sales 53% compared to last year. Aaron Greenberg took the opportunity to jab Sony by claiming “The Lost and Damned would have outsold Killzone 2 in February” had they come out on the same date.
How ever seeing as Killzone 2 came out within the last week of February that’s hard to say, the NPD has Killzone 2 selling 323,000 units, but its hard to judge the game based on one weeks worth of data.
As the shots continue to come from Aaron Greenberg, Sony continue to feel the pressure. Looks like Microsoft are kicking them while their down. Will we see any response from Sony? Lets hope we find out.
