UPDATE: The Sky Player has been taken down due to flaws, we will keep you updated.

Thats right, it’s finally here. The Sky TV add on for Xbox Live is finally available in the UK and Ireland, complete with 24 channels and over 400 movies. The application allows you to stream content directly  from Sky TV, you can even do this with your fellow Xbox Live buddies. The Sky player will be available for free to anyone who already has a Sky TV subscription, however those without one will have to pay a fee which starts at £15 depending on which package you wish to enjoy.

To get the full potential of this application, you will of course require an Xbox Live gold subscription, however Silver members will always get Sky News for free. This is just one more step into Microsofts quest to create the perfect entertainment experience via the Xbox 360. I have yet to try out the newly launched application as I am at work, but if anyone else out there has already given it a go please leave your comments about the service here.
