While no injury is a laughing matter, I couldn’t hold back from the comments I been reading all over the internet on this bit. A 14 year old girl fell off her Nintendo Wii Fit balance board and fractured her foot. What the hell movements was she doing? Wii Fit is not an intense workout.

“In the United Kingdom, a healthy 14-year-old girl presented to the emergency department at Horton General Hospital in Banbury (near Oxford), having sustained an injury to her right foot with associated difficulty in mobilization. She had been playing on her Wii Fit balance board and had fallen off, sustaining an inversion injury. (The Wii Fit replaces handheld controls with a pressure-sensitive board about 2 in. off the ground that lets the user participate in tricky games that can improve balance.)”

What bothers me most are the other injuries the article listed caused by playing the Wii such as head injuries, and body dislocations. Damn, Wii gaming is no joke.

I work in a video game store and had a regular customer of mine come in with a wii fit injury. She's a small framed, young, athletic, attractive mother of two who happened to break both ankles on her wii fit. She might be hot, but she's not exactly a rocket surgeon.
