Remember when Sony announced a Social Networking service for the PSP called Room? No? Neither do I. It seems that I forgot that announcement with good reason though because today Sony confirmed that Room has been officially cancelled and will not be appearing on the PSP, despite being in beta form since Fall 2009. Apparently Room was first announced at last year’s Tokyo Game Show and as the name suggests it was designed to compliment the PS3’s Home service.
No reason was given for the cancelation but common sense suggests that Sony pulled the plug because;
A) The idea was stupid
B) Nobody uses the PSP, and…
C) Even less people use Home
At this point maybe Sony should cancel the PSP itself and move on to something new, PSP 3D anyone?
