STORY
The year is A.D. 2087. In the aftermath of World War III, Earth has been ravaged and the population decimated by a deteriorating environment. The countries that survived have joined together to form the Greater Unified Nations and turned their eyes skyward…to space.

Edge Maverick and his childhood friend Reimi Saionji are chosen as pioneer members of the Space Reconnaissance Force, which was created to seek out new worlds beyond the stars. Their ship, the Calnus, takes its place on the lunar launch pad along with four other starships of the first reconnaissance fleet. These ships – humanity’s last hope – blast off one-by-one and sail into the awaiting wormhole that leads to the vast star ocean.

And so, Edge and his crew begin their voyage in search of a new haven for humanity…and a second chance.

I dunno if I would say that this game shows the superiority of blu ray.
more like it shows the shortcomings of the dev team. every other multi-disk 360 game so far has not had the issues with continuity that this game had. they all made switching disks be a matter of progression. it they had either worked on this game longer, or knew what they were doing in the first place, you tell me which, then that would have been a non-issue.

  2. Haipa Sonikku says:

Check out the link at the bottom. Supposedly changing discs to constantly access different parts of the game is just a convenience issue. My apologies for the late post.

  3. Your agenda is getting to the point of comical.

“This IS the game that undoubtedly proves that Blu-Ray is the new standard in gaming.”

This ISN’T the game that proves Blu-Ray is the new standard. There are only a few out there and this isn’t one of them. Talk to me next year when devs REALLY start utilizing Blu-Ray. They still aren’t doing it.

  4. That whole beta testing thing is bullshit too. You call yourself a real gamer talking tripe like that?

    • Joeki11a says:

Just calling it like I see it LOL, MS paying these devs to rush out
the game first to the 360 IS NOT PAYING OFF. Xbox fans are getting fucked over now, companies are feeding the PS3 better versions and you can’t dispute that.

Can someone list the “ex-exclusive” that are now full of content on PS3
I know NG2 on PS3 is full of content also, what others can be added to this trend of packing the PS3 versions with more content?.

  5. neko says:

    yea finally
after funded by m$ in the development stage
    and beta tested by xbots
it finally comes home where it belongs

  6. necronzero says:

Thanks for the beta test xbots ;)

  7. A.B. Frasier says:

switching disc on the 360 is not some new discovery. why is everybody acting as if?

blu ray the new gaming standard? yea soon as the 360 and wii magically go missing.

this proves that bluray is better to put larger games on. being a standard…and being a larger disc are two different things. the only thing blu ray is standard on in gaming is the ps3

and wasnt this a timed exclusive

eitherway…good look coming to the ps3

    • Fergus Mills says:

We all may not agree to call Blu-ray the medium gaming standard now, but it will be before you realize it. Microsoft’s next system will be using Blu-ray disc. It’s not a matter of PS3 vs 360 in the issue. The infrastructure and investment has been layed in movies and gaming and any other party even attempting to push another hd disc media now would be foolish and achieve cost beyond acceptability. Do not expect the gaming and movie industry to conform to another format war in the immediate future. The same way vhs and dvd did its thing, the same way USB became the standard for computer/device connectivity, Blu-Ray and digital distribution are now the standards for hd entertainment and technology will continue to be built around that.

    • Joeki11a says:

All I can is What is next?, seems like full blown trend is beginning to take effect…..

  8. Bess says:

Haipa/Hyper this is my last response against you……
Blu Ray will be lucky if it even survives against digital downloads. Idk if youve been watching but after the hd vs blu ray battle, blue ray sales have been garbage.
ONCE MICROSOFT ALLOWS NEW GAMES TO BE SOLD ON “GAMES ON DEMAND” SERVICE YOUR BLU RAY ARGUEMENT WILL BE THROW OUT.

Even your boys @ Sony is about to introduce a 250 gig ps3 slim.Hmmmmm why would you need 250 gigs???

TO DOWNLOAD FULL GAMES! Blu Ray will join UMDs,Mini Disc and Beta Max(or whatever its called).Im sure you defended all 3 of those huh.

But for real Hyper being a fanboy IS A WASTE i learned that with Sega. Every week you diss Microsoft and defend every sony action.Do you think Sony gives a shit about you?? NO.

Peace and blessing my brother.Holla @ me when you wake up so we can talk about the love for ALL GAMES.

  9. otakuman5000 says:

I am sorry I couldn’t be on the podcast. I wish I could have made it though.

  10. otakuman5000 says:

Halo ODST was initially announced as an expansion. As the Development process went on Bungie just kept adding more and more features and levels and game play, the game became bigger than an expansion.

  11. Joeki11a says:

So 360 Beta tested this joint?…….

  12. Haipa Sonikku says:

More than likely it’ll be the Blu Ray standard set by Pioneer Electronics at 400GB and above. That was the feature of the Blu Ray medium that really set it apart from the former HD DVD format in which it is upgradable although I wish that Dolby Digital Plus (13.1) was a standard in BDs like the former HD DVD.
