Every time you read a newspaper or turn on the TV there is always some talk about Swine Flu going on. Even though the virus hasn’t done any more damage to the population than the regular flu, the onslaught of media coverage has the world thinking that this is the next bubonic plague.
About a week ago, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a State of Emergency in Cali because of 13 cases of Swine Flu discovered throughout the state. When State of Emergency’s are declared, resources are shifted to combat the cause of the emergency and events that gather huge amounts of people are usually delayed when deemed necessary. Many sporting events where Swine Flu has popped up have already been canceled and there have speculations of E3 being delayed as well. Despite the State of Emergency, E3 is said to still be taking place in its intended time slot. MCV recently had time to talk ESA, the group who organizes E3. This is a little of what they had to say.
“The 2009 E3 Expo is progressing as planned,”
“Public health officials are taking all appropriate steps and we continue to follow their direction on all measures.”
“We look forward to a great event, and to seeing you in Los Angeles in June.”
