His royal rapping highness, Mr. Ego himself Kanye West appeared on ABC’s The View today. The View who shares a round table of sassy women co-host which includes, Sherri Shepard, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, and Barbara Walters. The show has certainly stepped their hip hop quota up having recently had Lil Wayne, and Soulja Boy as guest. In keeping with the tradition of having talented guest who better to make an appearance than Mr. West.
Kanye was announced and strolled out with the type of blazing suaveness that only a real superstar could posses. Immediately the group began discussing his latest musical effort 808’s and Heartbreak. Seeing how the urban sector is in an uproar over Jay-Z’s latest single “D.O.A. Death of Autotune” Kanye addressed his own usage of the device. He stated that use of Autotune is extremely popular right now in the urban community, but let’s be honest by now that crazy fad is worldwide. He declared that he chose to use this medium to simply give great music to the public. This is a medium that’s not always respected so he wanted to see the reaction of a respected artist taking in such a method. He also mentioned that the album was completed in three weeks, with the help of other artist like Mr. Hudson, and Kid Cudi. He poignantly talked about building his relishing melodies which led him to do a cute spontaneous country rendition of his song “Heartless.” Ultimately the album is an expression of his current moments in time.

Next the group briefly chatted about Kanye West’s latest project, his new book Thank You and You’re Welcome. The book will be sold on his website and will officially hit book stores July 7. “The goal was to make it simple for people who are non-readers and still get the point across,” according to J. Sakiya Sandifer who helped pen the book. Kanye told the ladies of the view that it’s filled with notable quotable sentiments such as “To use someone is necessary, to not be used means you’re useless.”
Mr. West ended his interview by plugging in his activism with his charity the Kanye West Foundation. His late mother started the non-profit organization and he wants to keep her legacy alive by continuing forward with the mission. The foundation is brilliantly progressive within its environment. One idea it has latched onto is in aiding the public school systems in implementing better music production classes for high school students to part take in and gain industry experience. Mr. West is a huge advocate of education despite his quirky college drop out scenarios. He’s will be performing a benefit concert to celebrate 3,000 students with perfect attendance in Chicago. This will be the second annual “Stay in School” themed contribution by the organization. To join the efforts of the Kanye West Foundation go to http://www.kanyewestfoundation.org/
