Now while we can all see that everyone, everyone’s grandma and everyone’s grandmas dog owns a Nintendo Wii  and that the Wii has and will continue to dominate in sales I’m talking about real gaming here. Which would be the PS3 and the 360 (sorry PC Gamers).

Anything Halo: Like it or not The Halo trilogy and pretty much anything Halo is a powerhouse seller for the 360 and with two big Halo related games coming out in 2009 it doesn’t look like Microsoft has any plans on stopping the hype train powered buy record shattering sales numbers and insane amounts of Halo devotees. Gamers nag and complain that they hate Halo 3 but they’ll be the first in line for Halo Wars and Halo: ODST.

Acquiring Exclusives: Microsoft has being taking exclusives like Brain Urlacher picking off QBs foolish enough to throw in his direction.Whether  its buying them up or devs are realizing that its smarter to go multiplatform in these days and times. Microsoft has been putting work in to get plenty of other exclusives also on the 360. From Tekken to Final Fantasy to Downloadable Content for two of 2008s Biggest games.

Xbox Live: Xbox Live has grown alot  since its debut on November 2002. It will continue to grow and stay as the one true online multiplayer gaming and digital media service. I have a very distinct feeling that Microsoft will make several very big moves for live as a whole sometime in 09.

Achievements: Gamers crave for having a sense of accomplishment besides knowing they did the damn near impossible. They like showing it. It’s what being a gamer is about, having fun and gloating. I look for Microsoft to take achievements to the next level in 09 and to shock everyone.

Price Tag: I’m not sure if you’re aware but we are in a recession at the moment. The $200 price tag will help SEVERELY and unless Sony follows up with on soon and doesn’t stop trying to rehash the same system with a new game thing then 360 will outsell PS3 by a landslide.

Japan: The 360 has been showing promise in the land of the rising sun. Releasing several highly acclaimed JRPGs to help raise pretty lack luster sales in Japan. With the recent acquisition of  the next Final Fantasy and  Star Ocean: The Last Hope hitting shelves in the next few months I expect 360 sales to soar once again in Japan. We still don’t know if Microsoft has any other JRPGs under wraps.

In Reality, We all expect some surprises from all three Console creators (Sony,Nintendo,Microsoft). I see Microsoft pulling out the big guns and making some major moves in 09 to help put them on top. The year has just begun and we already have several AAA titles coming out so I believe anything can happen. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

   the wii is a joke and everything about it sucks so yeah i dont count that POS either.

   xbox 360 maybe had a chance if it had a game to compete againts Killzone 2 that game looks so damn good.

   you sony boys are gettin all mad over an opinion..how sad specially when they know people do most of their gaming on the 360 wether its online or not. this gen i know more people with 360s and WIIs than i know with PS3s, last gen i knew more people with PS2s and mind you i had the most powerful machine at the time xbox and i felt just like you do now but even though the xbox was more powerful it was still gaining ground behind sony and nintendo which was a contender as well but now the tables turn. the ones posting games dont act like thats gonna change anything sony has to push consoles to break that 3billion dollar deficit..oh yeah its just like before where microsoft didnt make a dime on any console sold now look whos digging them selves out of a hole..SONY. so its not about power anymore i thought sony learned something back then with the PS2 guess not now the two others are enjoying the lead selling games since they now have a more established market.

   quite the dilemma isnt it

   Funny how the Wii’s games can sell a console for £180 yet the 360’s garbage games can’t shift a console for £130.

   Looks like Halo and Gears Of War aren’t worth the money after all? Get used to the 360 having no exclusives, it’s gonna be this way for the next 24 months, 360 = Dreamcast…..only with hardware failures!

   Are you serious? Alot of xbox fans are suffering from delusions. Do you not know that Halo is getting tired of being milked for all that it is worth? Gears and Fable ? Forza , and Crackdown ? Thats all you have and call it original material? It’s a joke how many pro american red neck peckerwoods are supporting a dying console just because they spent their last $199 on that white future box plus $100 for the thing that allows them to playgames on line and another $100 to help them play online without wires. Plus $60 per year to talk smack or send racial slurs, or ignore others who don’t have there gamer score.. you know the good ol boys club. You can’t be serious in thinking that this loud sounding non-future proof system will even make it past this Christmas. Xbox has to come up with another console by 09′ 10′ at the latest. It’s laughable how a system with no forsight and good marketing can rule 07′ and 08′ with no inovative games and no depth. ( The nickle and dime system) WAKE UP! people and realize that the furture of gaming should be a true future and not remakes of the past.

   his “partner Gary Swaby has also posted an article explaining the reasons he feels that Sony’s PS3 will dominate in 2009″ as stated above, so why are all the fanboys still here bashin on the 360 i dont know. so the only ones delusional here are the ps3 fanboys or they’re blind or lost plus none of you have even posted a full list of exclusives on here for the 360..shame on all you liars because exclusive for exclusives with an average score of 8.0 or higher for each console ps3 and 360 have about the same amount of games scoring well and as for ‘09 they didn’t mention it yet like SONY back in ‘07 so thats what you’re gettin now shit that was announced back in ‘07 and shit that got pushed back and is now releasing. so most of the arguing here insn’t really relevant to the point, yall make it seem like everybody with a 360 is rich and thats kinda sick when everybody that bought a 360 knew what they were getting into and thats what they know their console of choice and some of you dispise that. while SONY still trying to figure out what everybody wants and needs to comeplete their console..too funny they been trying to satisfy their costumers since they first came out specially with the PSN. i dont know how many cry babies i already heard crying about all the features it needs all equivelant to the LIVE service so stop hustling sony and let them make games shall we.

   Bottom line is this if the ps3 is better it will be on pace to selling 100 million units as their 1st two consoles did why its not besides that its to pricey it just doesnt deliver games or graphics as it promised the best looking game is not even out yet a title thats been in the works for damn near 5 years killzone 2 should look good thats it. Where are the amazing graphics at? The cell is the best well if thats so why are the xbox games look way better faster load times larger worlds if blu-ray is better show me where and 1 more thing 70% of the ppl who have 360 never owned the first xbox

    I being a 360 gamer for only one reason is the experience of Xbox live, i have met hundreds of friends, downloaded many movies and shared many experiences, Gaming is no longer just about playing but about the soical interaction just like school is not just about learning but about the social benifit. Microsoft did rush the system and ended up paying for it with quite a few flaws in their console but the 360 in the end is the best system out their because of its only advantage which is Xbox Live and what that brings to gaming. And to you people who think live should be free I disagree. One of the greatest reasons gaming online on the 360 advanced so quickly was because they had sort of like funding to enhance there product which they did. And for those of you who are saying this is coming from someone who only plays 360 I have a wii, PS3 and a 360 and I play all of them almost equelly. The PS3 to me is the better console in general because of hardware and so on but the experience you get with a console is what impacts you the most. My experience with PS3 i give it a 8/10 and that is because it’s media experience and online experience (not including bluray) is ok. The Online needs improving and to me the only way they can do this is by chargin 20 bucks for a year or something. The wii i give 6/10 because it does not cover all types of games the average gamer wants to play but covers only a few. Also it’s online attempt is pathetic. The xbox 360 i give 8/10 because of its hardware problems and lack of connecting media with other operating systems. I give it the same as PS3 because its live service gives it a huge advantage. It creates a whole new world for the gamer. So depending on what your looking at to me the 360 and PS3 are tied due to certain advantages. If sony ever gets their online gaming service as high as Xbox live then PS3 will be the supreme no doubt about it. But intell then i agree that the 360 will win this generations war unless sony does this. Because gamers are looking for both social fun and Fun in general.

    I don’t know if it’s been mentioned (too lazy to read all the long comments above) but when you said FF13 to xbox 360 along with SO4 with increase sales in Japan, you forgot that only SO4 would make an impact on the 360 in Japan since FF13 is PS3 exclusive in Japan and multi-platform elsewhere.

    Sony fanboys hype their games so much that if it does suck they lose credibility. Microsoft fanboys can’t seem to give credit where credit is due and say the PS3 sucks when it has proven itself with games like R2, MGS4, and LBP

    All in all fanboys are the scum of the gaming world…

    x box sold much more than ps3, cuz it came out much earlier and was in its peak. its total sales will be more than ps3 for a while because of past years’ success. But for 2009 or 2010, i think ps3 will win the battle. i ,owning both ps3 and and xbox 360, personally think that ps3 is a console with so much potential. its 160gb beast console, the ps3-exclusive games, developing online play, only way microsoft compete sony in 2009 and 2010 years’ sale is marketing. and buy as many games that was only ps3 exclusive games such as it did with FF13 using all kinds of strategy or w/e. But buying xbox 360 after 2009 is something i don’t just personally recommend
