2009 is almost over but it was a phenomenal first year for us here at The Koalition. If you’re relatively new to the site sit back and relax because over the next few days I’m going to give you a recap on our biggest news, features and accomplishments of the year. As big as 09 was for us we promise to make 2010 even bigger, stay tuned!
________

January 2009

We kicked off the year by putting the Community Spotlight on Ruthless Kid, the most vocal and retarded member of our community.  Another fan of ours Mr  F. Mills joined the team and Kap went on a  weed induced mind trip and pondered over what a LEGO Call of Duty game would  be like. Later on in the month former TK editor Donnie B and Gary “Swiff” Swaby posted conflicting articles titled “Xbox 360 Will Dominate In 2009” and “PS3 Will Shine In ’09” respectively before Swiff went on to rant about the mistreatment of European gamers. Kap put in work at the end of the month by conducting our first TK Radio, Interviewing rapper Mick Boogie, directing an episode of True Gamer Stories featuring Godfree from Gamertag Radio and hosting the pilot episode of our Co-Op podcast. Swiff rounded off January by ranting about his disappointment towards Sony, I guess they won’t shine in 2009 after all?

Febraury 2009

February was a slower month for us but we still had a some great pieces of content starting with an interview with rapper J.A.M.E.S. Watts. Swiff continued his rollercoaster relationship with Sony by declaring “PS3 is better value than the 360” during his latest rant and Kap went to New York Comic Con to kick it with nerds before returning home to chop it up with Konsole Kings’ CJ Peters for another True Gamer Stories. Finally Rakeem Johnson dropped an insightful review on the interior of Joe Budden’s Padded Room, silent protagonist Dro (aka James G) reviewed  50’s Blood On The Sand and Swiff did the same for Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection.

March 2009

Review season was still in going strong. Eddy V took on House Of The Dead: Overkill, Swiff handled Killzone 2 and I made my Koalition debut with an import review of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. CEO Randy Ledet Jr. showed of his awesome bachelor pad for an episode of The Bitbag’s Gamer Crib and Swiff questioned whether  OnLive is ahead of it’s time then dropped his wish list for Metal Gear Solid 5. Kap conducted another interview, this time with Cubbie Bear and more reviews came courtesy of me (with Metal Gear Solid Touch) and Eddy V (The Wheelman).

April 2009

Another slow month for us as we suffered the calm before the E3 storm. Swiff ranted against Sony yet again, Rakeem gave his verdict on a bunch of albums (Rick Ross, Jadakiss & Asher Roth), Kap schooled Microsoft on what REAL “Hip-Hop Clothing” is (no socks and sandals!), I predicted The Demise of Nintendo and let listeners inside our office for the very first time. Not bad.
