I’m sure we’ve all heard about this by now, but I got to see it first hand last week. I can say that this introduction of Sky Tv’s player will boost the amount of Gold memberships we see in the UK.

The Sky player is not just something slapped in there to add on to the value of Xbox Live Gold, It’s is not just a player or a stream from any given sky channel. The service will actually enable you to watch specific Sky Tv channels, such as Sky Sports, which will be a big hit with the Football (Soccer) fans in the United Kingdom.

The service will most likely feature a range of Sky’s own channels, with perhaps a couple other channels giving their consent to the service. So expect Sky one, Sky Movies and Sky news to also appear.

The great thing is however, the fact that we may well see Sky Box Office appear on this service, which will allow us to watch pay per view movies and sports. (If I am able to watch the Floyd Mayweather fight on my Xbox 360, I may just over excerpt myself with excitement).

This addition to Xbox Live, has eliminated the need for me to get an extra Sky TV Box in my bedroom, and thus I will surely be buying myself a one year Xbox Live subscription card, as in my eyes it is now worth every penny. Sky’s service on Xbox Live, had even American’s jealous of UK gamers at E3, which is not something we always get to experience. Look out for the service arriving in the coming months.
